Kankakee, IL – Local Community Aims to Reduce Domestic Violence with Free Strangulation Prevention Training

Kankakee, IL – The Kankakee Army Aviation Support Facility is hosting a crucial strangulation prevention training, highlighting a staggering statistic: Strangulation can increase the risk of a victim being killed by an intimate partner by 750%. 

According to Harbor House, which is organizing the event, attendees can join one of two sessions on March 12 or 13, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. This program, developed by the Training Institute For Strangulation Prevention, is tailored for professionals like police, prosecutors, and medical staff involved in domestic violence and sexual assault cases. 

Training Mandates, CEUs, and PDs credits are offered, with lunch included. Participants are encouraged to register at harborhousedv.org/events to learn more about combating this critical issue.
