Football Frenzy Begins: IHSA Announces Schedules for Bourbonnais, Kankakee, and McNamara

BOURBONNAIS, IL – High school football fans in the local area are eagerly anticipating the start of the 2023 season as Bourbonnais, Kankakee, and McNamara high schools prepare to showcase their skills on the gridiron. These teams, representing their respective communities, are gearing up for thrilling matchups and intense competition as IHSA released schedules for teams across the state Monday.

Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School: The Boilermakers, led by Head Coach Mike Kohl, are coming off a 5-5 record in the 2022 season. Here is their schedule:

  • Aug 25: Home vs. Plainfield (East) at 7:00 PM
  • Sep 1: Away vs. South Holland (Thornwood) at 6:00 PM
  • Sep 8: Home vs. Wauwatosa (Kingdom Prep Lutheran), WI
  • Sep 15: Away vs. Frankfort (Lincoln-Way East) at 7:00 PM
  • Sep 22: Home vs. Lockport (Twp.) at 7:30 PM
  • Sep 29: Home vs. Tinley Park (Andrew) at 7:30 PM
  • Oct 6: Away vs. New Lenox (Lincoln-Way West) at 7:00 PM
  • Oct 13: Away vs. Palos Hills (Stagg) at 6:00 PM
  • Oct 20: Home vs. New Lenox (Lincoln-Way Central) at 7:00 PM

Kankakee High School: The Kays, coached by Miles Osei, had an impressive 8-3 record last year. Here is their schedule:

  • Aug 25: Home vs. LaGrange Park (Nazareth Academy) at 7:00 PM
  • Sep 1: Away vs. Washington at 7:30 PM
  • Sep 8: Home vs. Dolton (Thornridge) at 7:00 PM
  • Sep 15: Home vs. Riverside (R.-Brookfield) at 7:00 PM
  • Sep 22: Away vs. South Holland (Thornwood) at 6:00 PM
  • Sep 29: Away vs. Richton Park (Rich Township) at 7:00 PM
  • Oct 6: Home vs. Chicago Heights (Bloom Twp.) at 7:00 PM
  • Oct 13: Away vs. Harvey (Thornton) at 6:00 PM
  • Oct 20: Home vs. Crete (Monee) at 7:00 PM

Bishop McNamara Catholic High School: The Fightin’ Irish, under the guidance of Head Coach Bob Kelly, are looking to improve upon their 3-6 record from the previous year. Here is their schedule:

  • Aug 26: Away vs. Chicago (Leo) at 1:00 PM
  • Sep 1: Away vs. Herscher at 7:00 PM
  • Sep 9: Home vs. Woodstock (Marian) at 1:00 PM
  • Sep 15: Home vs. Chicago (Christ the King) at 7:30 PM
  • Sep 22: Away vs. Aurora (Christian) at 7:00 PM
  • Sep 29: Away vs. West Chicago (Wheaton Academy) at 7:30 PM
  • Oct 6: Home vs. Palos Heights (Chicago Christian) at 7:00 PM
  • Oct 13: Away vs. Chicago (C. Hope Academy) at 7:00 PM
  • Oct 20: Home vs. Elgin (St. Edward) at 7:00 PM

As the 2023 high school football season kicks off, the communities of Bourbonnais, Kankakee, and McNamara will rally behind their teams, showing their support and creating an electric atmosphere at the games.
