Joliet Casino closes Saturday night after Bomb Threats

JOLIET – Hollywood Casino closed  Saturday night when a bomb threat came in from an unidentified man.

According to Joliet Police, it happened at 10:18 p.m. when the Casino received a phone call from a man claiming multiple bombs weee placed throughout the Casino property and would be detonated via remote.

Both the casino complex and the hotel were evacuated during the incident. Bomb squads from surrounding counties including Dupage and Kane responded to the scene with bomb sniffing K-9 units.

Police deemed both areas safe following an extensive search.  Hotel guests were allowed back in but the Casino itself remained closed as a precaution overnight.
