BOURBONNAIS, IL – Aqua Illinois is launching a program to address storm water infiltration in the local sanitary sewer system.

Robinson Engineering, LTD, a renowned engineering firm based in Bourbonnais, will conduct smoke testing to locate openings that allow unwanted water flows into the sewer. Non-toxic smoke will be introduced into the sewer lines to identify leaks and connections.

Smoke testing is harmless and dissipates quickly. Residents are advised to pour water into drains to prevent smoke from entering homes.

The testing, beginning June 26th, will continue until mid-July.
