DWIGHT – A man was arrested for allegedly trespassing at a home over the weekend.

According to Dwight Police, it happened around 10:20 a.m. Sunday morning outside a home in the 500 block of East Seminole Street.  That’s when a confrontation took place between a homeowner and 32-year-old Johnathan Bergens of Marseilles.

During the incident Behrens was shot and taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  After being treated he was transported to Livingston County Jail and arrested for Aggravated Assault and Criminal Trespass to Property.

Officials say more charges could be added pending an investigation into the incident, which is ongoing.
