Crest Hill, Illinois – The Lockport Township Fire District announced Friday plans for a new Training and Maintenance Facility on a 13-acre site near the Stateville Correctional Center in Crest Hill.

The new state-of-the-art Public Safety Training Facility, made possible by a land donation from the State of Illinois, aims to provide comprehensive training in various emergency scenarios. It will feature a 100-yard outdoor gun range, operated by the Lockport Police, and an Emergency Vehicle Maintenance facility.

The project, set to enhance fire operations and reduce response times, will also offer vehicle maintenance services to other emergency departments.
