Video Gaming Machine Theft: Will County Man Pleads Guilty and Faces 9 Years in Prison

LEE COUNTY, IL – Brian Morgan, a 42-year-old resident of Plainfield, has been sentenced Thursday to nine years in prison after pleading guilty to one count of Class 1 felony theft and one count of Class 2 felony burglary, according to Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul. 

Morgan’s charges were filed in August 2022, along with three other individuals, for their alleged involvement in stealing $400,000 from video gaming machines in businesses across thirteen counties, including Will, Grundy, and Iroquois. 

Morgan, who is already serving time for unrelated charges, was charged with 24 counts of burglary, one count of theft, and two counts of money laundering in connection with offenses committed in multiple counties.
