Man Severely Burned in Will County House Fire Wednesday, Found Outside Home

WILMINGTON – A harrowing incident unfolded yesterday at 34000 block of South Hickory Avenue when a raging fire led to a roof collapse and left an adult male severely burned. 

According to Wilmington Fire, it began around 12:58 P.M., the Wilmington Fire Protection District raced to the scene, only to find the home’s attic consumed by flames and the roof partially collapsed. The gravely injured man, the sole occupant, was discovered outside the residence. 

Immediate medical aid was administered, and he was airlifted to Loyola Medical Center. As investigators from MABAS Division 15 and the State Fire Marshall dive into the cause, the community awaits answers. An investigation into the blaze is ongoing.
