Indiana Man Arrested on Felony Charges for “Pee-fectly” Timed Attack on Officer

DEMOTTE, IN – An Indiana man was arrested on felony charges after allegedly assaulting an officer in Jasper County shortly after peeing.

According to Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on May 16th, 2023, when a Sergeant noticed an individual urinating along the roadside at the intersection of County Rd. 1100 W. and Cumberland Rd.

The Sergeant approached the individual, later identified as Aaron J. Braun, a 38-year-old resident of DeMotte, Indiana. As the officer was speaking with Braun and gathering information, Braun allegedly, unexpectedly, lunged at the Sergeant and delivered a closed-fist blow to the left side of his face. 

Despite the surprise attack, the quick-thinking Sergeant managed to apprehend Braun without further incident.

Following the assault, Aaron J. Braun was immediately taken into custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center. He now faces a Level 5 Felony charge for Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury to a Public Safety Official.
