KANKAKEE, IL – Kankakee Community College announced Friday 38 new students have been inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society in October 2023.
The society, which has been recognizing academic excellence in associate degree-granting colleges since 1918, offers its members opportunities for scholarships, intellectual enrichment, and personal development.
The new inductees from KCC hail from various cities, demonstrating the diverse talent across the region. These students have distinguished themselves academically, achieving the required 3.5 GPA or higher. The induction ceremony took place on October 27, marking their entry into the largest honor society in American higher education, which boasts over 3.5 million members.
Phi Theta Kappa emphasizes the values of scholarship, leadership, service, and fellowship. The Alpha Delta Eta chapter at KCC, under the guidance of chapter advisers Jaclyn Montemayer and Frances Hebert, continues to foster these ideals among its newly induced members, including:
