Matteson Shooting Claims Life of Woman Found Shot in Car, Man Injured

MATTESON, Ill. – One person was killed and another injured in a shooting incident that occurred on Wednesday night in Matteson. 

According to police, officers received a call about shots fired in the 3700 block of 214th Place around 9:54 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a 21-year-old man with a gunshot wound in his leg.

The man was given immediate medical attention and transported to Christ Hospital. The police also discovered an 18-year-old woman inside a parked vehicle with several gunshot wounds. 

The woman was later pronounced dead at St. James Hospital. 

The police have launched an investigation into the incident and are requesting the public’s assistance in the matter.
