Stolen Car Chase from Lansing to Kankakee County Ends in Illinois Police Cruiser Crash

KANKAKEE, Ill. — A high-speed pursuit involving a stolen car resulted in four police cruisers crashing in Kankakee County this past weekend. 

The incident began around 3 p.m. Sunday when Kankakee County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a reckless driver. Upon locating the vehicle, it was identified as stolen from Lansing, Illinois. The chase, which spanned across the city of Kankakee and the county, involved two Sheriff’s police cars, one from Saint Anne, and another from the state police. The pursuit ended with a collision requiring one officer to be extracted from their vehicle. 

Although the stolen car initially escaped and was later recovered on Tuesday in Pembroke Township. The incident is under investigation, and several individuals received treatment following the crash.
