Early Morning Stolen Vehicle Chase Ends in Crash, Drug Arrest in Kankakee

KANKAKEE, IL – A man is behind bars this afternoon after an early morning car chase in Bradley ended in a crash and drug arrest.

According to Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office, the crash Tuesday that a stolen vehicle chase concluded with a crash and the arrest of a suspect on allegations of drug-related charges. Sheriff’s deputies attempted a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle in Bradley at around 6 am. The driver fled towards Kankakee and crashed near N Hobbie Ave and E Birch St. 

The suspect, later identified as Darren Thrower Jr, 23, of Kankakee, was apprehended shortly after. Authorities reported finding narcotics in his possession and later, learned two warrants were already issued for Thrower’s arrest.

Thrower now faces multiple charges, including possession of a stolen motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, and fleeing from law enforcement.
