OAK PARK, IL – Two Indiana residents were victims of an armed robbery Monday when perpetrators confronted them for a sewer camera.

According to Oak Park Police, it happened Monday morning just before 11 a.m. when two men executed the armed robbery in the 1000 block of S. Elmwood.  Reports say the offenders displayed a weapon after driving up in a black Ford SUV with a third man driving the vehicle.

The men went on to forcibly take a Ridgid sewer camera and monitor, valued at a staggering $7,981.35, from the sidewalk, quickly fleeing the scene southbound, leaving the victims shaken.

The Oak Park Police Department has launched a thorough investigation into the incident and is urging anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in identifying the perpetrators. Local law enforcement is working diligently to recover the stolen equipment and bring the offenders to justice.
