Police Identify Victim found shot in car in Aurora, later died at nearby hospital

AURORA, Ill. — The victim of a fatal shooting on April 9th in the 400 block of West New York Street has been identified as 24-year-old Myles Buie of Aurora.

According to the Aurora Police Department, officers responded to a report of a shooting around 10:00 PM and found Buie seated inside a parked vehicle with gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced dead later that evening.

A GoFundMe Campaign to pay for Myles Buie’s Funeral expenses has been started by family, raising nearly $3,000 at the time of writing. 

The investigation into the homicide is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of felony crime offenders and the capture of felony fugitives.

Aurora Police Department Public Information Officer Lt. Joseph Howe asks anyone with information to come forward and help bring justice to the family and friends of Myles Buie.

The community is reminded to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
